TOA Corporation, the first manufacturer to bring to the market digital signal processing with the SAORI (1988) and the first digital mixing console, ix9000, has continued this innovation with the introduction of the DP-SP3 audio processor.
TOA Canada Corporation's new DP-SP3 is a dedicated digital speaker processor and digital signal processing system that permits highly-accurate acoustic parameter settings, creating a richer, more vibrant sound environment by maximizing the performance of each speaker in the system. Equipped with a full array of signal processing functions such as Equalizer, Crossover, Matrix, Compressor, and Delay, the processor taps into characteristics of individual speakers and draws out their best possible performance, to help realize richer, more expressive sound.
Suitable for a wide range of applications in venues such as banquet halls and houses of worship, gymnasiums, and medium-sized restaurants, the DP-SP3 has a built-in library of presets for the most popular TOA speakers, which enables well-balanced sound immediately, without going to the trouble of inputting complex parameter settings. In addition, a preset memory of up to 16 setting patterns allows instant recall of the settings needed for a particular venue with parameter protection when switching between different memories.
There are ten filters on each input and twelve filters on each output. Combinations of parametric equalizer and high/low pass, and high/low shelving filters, as well as all-pass, notch filters and CD horn equalizer are possible. The DP-SP3 also boasts two inputs & six outputs, and the processor has cross-over provision from 2-way to 4-way multi-amp systems. Compression and delay parameters are also available on each of the outputs.
When connected to a LAN, settings and operations of the DP-SP3 can be performed on a PC with the supplied DP-SP3 PC Software installed and up to four units can be simultaneously connected for large systems. Web browsing for certain operations is also possible. The DP-SP3 can be mounted in a 19" EIA component rack.
"Continuing TOA's expertise in Digital Speaker Processor technology, the DP-SP3 now provides our customers with a cost effective DSP solution for speaker management and "room tuning", said Rico Lucia, National Sales Manager for TOA Canada. "With a wide variety of TOA mixing options available, the DP-SP3 with a mixer makes for a versatile and powerful audio system."
